After Carol Ann Duffy
A poem is not a cabbage
Even if it's really Green
A poem cannot iron a shirt
But who would read an iron ?
A poem cannot catch a bus
But will arrive when riding one
A poem won't drown your sorrow
But sorrow can drown a poem
A poem cannot tell the time
But often helps to pass some
A poem is never embaressed
Even when it is read
Even if it's really Green
A poem cannot iron a shirt
But who would read an iron ?
A poem cannot catch a bus
But will arrive when riding one
A poem won't drown your sorrow
But sorrow can drown a poem
A poem cannot tell the time
But often helps to pass some
A poem is never embaressed
Even when it is read

I feel there's scope here for a tag so if you feel the erge, write on...
what and spoil a perfectly formed poem? not likely!
I very much doubt it CJ
cute poem :) i'm curious to know why this title?
Lorena, Carol Ann Duffy wrote a poem like this about a sceleton and a poet, it was a children's poem and I kind of borrowed the idea that's all it's a book I often read because I like it so much
This one is pure like crystal-clear water. I love this two side style. What i can said about a so good poem.
Bye, take care of yourself.
I like it! I like it! :-)
Playful, sweet, true, entertaining, clever, bold, and very neat. And so....
A poem can never die
Even if it is buried in praise.
Carba and Dan, thank-you

I'm a big Carol Ann Duffy fan. I've bought her new book, Rapture, for a couple of people for Christmas. I'll read it myself first, naturally.
Yours is a nice version of her poem poem.
So true. So true.
Roger the best presents are definately the ones you get to read first, trouble is I'd never be able to part with a poetrybook once I read it, they become like old friends on my shelf.
