Not Today Please

Today has been cancelled,
The whole world can't be bothered,
Black birds sit like pompoms,
One startled eye on watch duty,
Curtains shiver,
Pulling tighter shut,
Trees sulk in an icy shower,
Cars mutter and cough,
The sky can barely hold herself up,
Wind whispers to the clouds,
"Do not to wake the sun"
Lawn turns over yawning,
Under stff clean sheets.

Only Manooska minds,
Caught out by the door,
Angry with magic white feathers,
Now so cold and wet.

Hi, everyone, glad you enjoyed the poem(s) amie,I think the correct term is concrete poetry, but I just call them shape poems, I'm glad your nephew liked it. Feel free to share them. CJ just a cat, but manooska worked better somehow.A new album sounds good, about time. Nice to hear from you eden.

Ok, if C.J. won't ask, I will. Who is Manooska? There, someone did it.

Very funny, smart poem, by the way.

Silky, somberly shut-in, shut-out, graceful, powerful poem. This praise must add in adverbs, adjectives alone just won't do! I really loved this poem and its silky, sulky words!
