Escape Artists

Escaped several Words
Missing
Presumed
Dangerous

Their owner maintains
That his
Words
Escaped
Unintentionally

There is
Some evidence
Anger may
have been responsible

Their owner says
He's made all
Reasonable
Attempts to recover them
And is not
responsible
For any damage/havoc
His words may have created

He may however
Still
Have to
Except some blame
As ignorance
Is no defence
In law

just today came across a spanish proverb which means, an closed mouth catches no flies.

your poem reminded me again of that. i too sometimes say things in anger and hurt which i want to take back, but who can. you just hv to let go and try your best to make up by other means.

This is quite true and I have on occasions uttered words I wish I could have snatched from the air before they reached their unintended victim.

I think it depends how close you are to some-one as to how much in a way they will allow for your failings
